What can go wrong within the organisation

Through completing the SWOT annalysis the main (Threat) found for Aquasauna is that council run buisnesses like gyms and leisure centres are offering the same services as Aquasauna but a cheaper rate, therefore due to the current climate (recession) The clientel will lower at private .

Personal run buisness like sports massage buisnesses are paying rent to the council to hold their buisnesses within the leisure centre and the clienttel are paying for the services within their memebership prices. (Getting more for their money)
This is a positive for the individual buisnesses as it is easy money, but for private run buisnesses like Aquasauna this is a threat to their buisness and profit.

According to this graph the peak of sales are throughout the summer season and winter period . This could be due to seasonal offers that Aquasauna have to offer around these dats, Christams packages and Two for one offers . Around the January mark aquasaunas profit margin falls dramatically , this could be due to Gym Memberships inclining for the new year in the council run leisure centres.

Centre Parcs is a very large organisation and as a large structure within the organisation also the members involved to make up the structure work to build a successful operation of Centre Parcs/ Aqua Sauna. Including things like health and safety such as fire exits and first aid and communication with the staff.

Sections within the organisation

Swimming pool – The swimming pool at Centre Parcs is lottery funded, the lottery fund is given to them at the beginning of every tax year, when first given the lump sum of money they built the pool and all the remaining facilities like changing rooms and so forth. The money now is used to keep up the maintenance and cleaning of the pool. The lottery work very closely with Centre Parcs and are very involved and interested in how the money is being used and if they a budgeting the amount of money correctly.

Gymnasium – The Gym at Centre Parcs is actually an organisation on its own. It is a Fitness First health club. (2009) www.fitnessfirst.co.uk “Fitness First is the largest privately owned health club group in the world with over 470 Fitness First clubs worldwide reaching over 1.3 million members in 13 countries.”  The gym at Centre Parcs basically runs itself it does work in partnership with Centre Parcs. For example members at the gym often come to the spa, Aqua sauna for either a massage or just a chance to relax in the sauna or any other facilities. Therefore the gym does bring in custom and it is reciprocated back to the gym as many of the guests apply for week or even just day passes to use the gym facilities while on vacation. The Fitness First gyms equipment is modern and reliable; the equipment in the gym includes treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines, recumbrance bike, free weights, multi gyms and weight machines.

My Work placement took place at Aqua Sauna in Centre Parcs. Aqua Sauna is a relaxation spa that also focuses on massages pre and post exercise. Centre Parcs/ Aqua Sauna are privately owned and have been since 198. Centre Parcs is a holiday village that offers a relaxing break for the paying general public. Aqua Sauna/ Centre Parcs have many different facilities for the public to use while on their holiday or just a weekend break. For example: Swimming Pools, Gymnasium, Outdoor and indoor  courts for squash, tennis and badminton, Rock Climbing, abseiling and outdoor facilities for orienteering and outward bound activities and finally the place where I was based on placement Aqua Sauna the relaxation and massage spa.
